Dear Brigitte,

Thank you for your emails of yesterday and today. Unfortunately there
seems to be a technical problem because your proposals haven't yet
appeared on the CF mailing list.

I have just checked the list of subscribers to the mailing list and
your email address is definitely among them. However, just now I tried
using 'Reply All' in my email client to answer your message and I
noticed that the cf email address in the 'To' field was not the one I
usually use -- it said cf-metadata-request at cgd.ucar.edu
<mailto:cf-metadata-request at cgd.ucar.edu> whereas I normally use
cf-metadata at cgd.ucar.edu <mailto:cf-metadata at cgd.ucar.edu> to post
messages. I have removed it from the list of addressees for now. Please
could you try again by sending a message to the second address (copied
  also to me) and we will see if that works. If there are still problems
I will contact the mailing list owner to ask for his help.

Best wishes,

Alison

Dear Alison and CF metadata community,

You should have received 102 proposals of new standard names, which have
been defined in the frame of HTAP2.
They were sent in five different emails, numbered from 1. to 5. , and
dated 02, 12, 12, 13 and 17 December 2013, respectively.
*Please do not consider my previous email*, i.e. the ERRATUM dated 18th
Dec., which was due my misunderstanding.
*The standard names of the initial proposal 5. (copy below) still stand.
Only the unit of the 4 first ones has to be corrected as follows:*

Proposed new standard name:
tendency_of_atmosphere_mass_content_of_sulfate_dry_aerosol_due_to_*aqueous_phase*_net_chemical_production

Unit:*kg m-2 s-1*

Definition:aqueous phase (fog and clouds) is meant as opposed to gaseous
phase.

Proposed new standard name:
tendency_of_atmosphere_mass_content_of_sulfate_dry_aerosol_due_to_*gaseous_phase*_net_chemical_production

Unit: *kg m-2 s-1*

Definition:gaseous-phase is meant as opposed to aqueous phase.

Proposed new standard name:
tendency_of_atmosphere_mass_content_of_*methanesulfonic_acid*_dry_aerosol_due_to_net_chemical_production

Unit: *kg m-2 s-1*

Definition: The chemical formula for the methanesulfonic acid is CH3SO3H.

Proposed new standard name:
tendency_of_atmosphere_mass_content_of_nitrate_dry_aerosol_due_to_net_chemical_production

Unit: *kg m-2 s-1*

Waiting for your feed-back about potential issues on naming or definition,
I wish you all a merry Christmas and an Happy New Year,

Brigitte

        Dear CF metadata community,

        The Task Force on Hemispheric Transport of Air Pollution (TF
        HTAP) is an international scientific cooperative effort
        to improve the understanding of the international transport of
        air pollution across the Northern Hemisphere.
        In 2010, TF HTAP produced a first comprehensive assessment
        report (available under www.htap.org <http://www.htap.org>).
        The ongoing HTAP Phase 2 (HTAP2) exercise, which includes
        coupled regional-global modelling,
        is designed to provide more detailed intercontinental
        source-receptor calculations,
        as well as higher resolution estimates of the impacts on health,
        vegetation and climate.

        *A total a **102 **new standard names are proposed for approval,
        to be sent in five different rounds: *

        1. A total of 20 new standard_names for emission fields (
        /tendency_of_atmosphere_mass_content_of_*_due_to_emission*/ ;
        Unit=kg m-2 s-1)
        2. A total of 31 new standard_names for deposition
        (/tendency_of_atmosphere_mass_content*_due_to_dry_deposition/;
        /tendency_of_atmosphere_mass_content*_due_to_wet_deposition/;
        Unit=kg m-2 s-1)
        3. A total of 25**new standard_names for mass mixing ratio of
        aerosols (/mass_fraction_of_*_in_air/; Unit=kg kg-1)
        4. A total of7new standard_names for volume mixing ratio of
        gases (/mole_fraction_of_*_in_air/; Unit=mole mole-1)
        5. A total of 19new standard_names for other gaseous and aerosol
        variables.

        *As a fifth and last round, please find below the list of the 19
        last CF standard names that are proposed in the frame of HTAP2. *
        With my best regards,
        Brigitte
