This seems to point to a bigger problem. These mail messages are supposed to be publicly readable, are they not? It appears the installation has changed this into a private (not viewable) repository, based on this thread and the new URL. That's definitely not what we want.
If it IS what we want, could the people who manage the CGD site put in an apache redirect, so that all the links that appear all over the internet to specific mail addresses could continue to resolve correctly, instead of breaking? I think this is a typical practice when a resource's location changes. (Ref: Cool URIs don't change.)
But redirecting to the right place won't help the universe if they get prompted for a password they won't have.
