Hi all,
I'm fine with 'amplitude_of _global_average_sea_level_change' and
'phase_of_global_average_sea_level_change'.
Concerning the way amplitude and phase could be defined, John emphasized
the fact that wave can take many different senses in oceanography. This
is also my feeling. On the other hand I also think that these wave
definitions may not be too much specific. Perhaps we shouldn't go deeper
in details, if somebody involved in meteorology, climate sciences or
whatever, have the same needs? Or if the term "wave" mentioned in the
definition is ambiguous, perhaps we could replace it by "oscillation"?
Cheers,
Olivier
