[CF-metadata] Cell methods - depth mean

Hi,

I would like to use cell_methods to create a standard name for the depth mean of the "EASTWARD_SEA_WATER_VELOCITY". Any guidance would be much appreciated.

In my data I have lat, long, time and the depth-mean east,north-velocities. I guess I need to attach the cell_methods attribute to the velocity variable. e.g. cell_methods="ocean_sigma_coordinate:mean"

Do I then create an ocean_sigma_coordinate variable (with correct dimensions and values) and attach a bounds attribute?
e.g. ocean_sigma_coordinate : bounds = " sigma_coordinate_bnds"

Then create a 1D sigma_coordinate_bnds variable giving it the interval 1:32, where 32 = the dimensions of ocean_sigma_coordinate.

Cheers,
Jenny
