[CF-metadata] Proposal for additional CF biogeochemistry attributes

Dear all,

Thank you Philip. What I understood is that everybody finally agrees on introducing a concept like mole_ratio_of_X_to_Y_in_medium.

And in that case the standard name we are looking for would be: 'mole_ratio_of_nitrate_to_phosphate_in_sea_water'.

It sounds good.

Synthesizing the iterations we had together, this leads us to make the following addition proposal to CF Metadata:

mass_concentration_of_inorganic_nitrogen_in_sea_water

kg m-3

ug/l

mass_concentration_of_phosphate_in_sea_water

kg m-3

ug/l

mole_concentration_of_phosphate_in_sea_water

mol m-3

umol/l

mass_concentration_of_silicate_in_sea_water

kg m-3

ug/l

mass_concentration_of_organic_detritus_in_sea_water_expressed_as_nitrogen

kg m-3

mass_concentration_of_organic_detritus_in_sea_water_expressed_as_carbon

mass_concentration_of_diatoms_in_sea_water_expressed_as_nitrogen

kg m-3

ug/l

mass_concentration_of_diatoms_in_sea_water_expressed_as_carbon

kg m-3

ug/l

mass_concentration_of_flagellates_in_sea_water_expressed_as_nitrogen

kg m-3

ug/l

mass_concentration_of_flagellates_in_sea_water_expressed_as_carbon

kg m-3

ug/l

volume_fraction_of_oxygen_in_sea_water

l l-1

mole_ratio_of_nitrate_to_phosphate_in_sea_water

mass_concentration_of_phytoplankton_in_sea_water_expressed_as_chlorophyll

kg m-3

Many thanks,

Best wishes

Olivier.

Hi All,

To help bring this to a conclusion, let me reiterate and say that

mole_ratio_of_X_to_Y_in_medium is acceptable to me.

Best wishes,

      Philip
