[CF-metadata] looking for a standard name

Dear Frederique

The standard name for ocean bathymetry is sea_floor_depth. Let us know if
there are others you can't find.

Section 8 of the CF standard describes two methods of reducing the size of
the data at the "application" level. Of course, gzip etc. can be used to
compress the entire file quite efficiently. Unfortunately netCDF itself
currently does not have any built-in method for per-variable compression.
