[CF-metadata] Accept geostationary projection

Good morning,

I am looking to use the ?geos? (geostationary) projection for projecting netcdf satellite data, and saw this ticket (https://cf-pcmdi.llnl.gov/trac/ticket/72) . When will this enhancement be added to CF and available to users? And is this based on the Proj4 ?PJ_geos.c? projection library that?s available now?
