[CF-metadata] Standardized region names

FYI

In BODC we have a shape file containing Sea Area polygons according to the official published IHB (1953) list for public distribution (contact Pauline Weatherall - paw at bodc.ac.uk).

Greg Read (IODE co-chair locate at Australian NODC) has the polygons for the draft IHB 2002 sea areas (that got stalled due to terminal nomenclature disagreement between certain far East countries). Moves are afoot to get these published, either in part by IHO, or in total under SeaVoX governance, hopefully by the end of the year. Meantime talk to Greg to see what access can be negotiated.

I'm also interested in this; it seems there is a broken link on CF website, I can't access to the list of regions (http://www.cgd.ucar.edu/cms/eaton/cf-metadata/region.html)?..
Otherwise the only reference I know concerning such standard lat-lon boxes are the ones provided by International Hydrographic Organization document.

I just noticed the list of standardized region names on the CF
website. Is there a list of standard lat-lon boxes (or polygons) that
match the entries in this list?
