Dear Ian and Olivier

I think we have to put up with long names. The alias mechanism is intended for
correcting mistakes (if we change our minds) rather than for supporting
abbreviations. I have a suggestion for this name which may make it a bit
shorter; I hope to type up my comments on Ian's proposals shortly. Sorry for
delay.
