This might be from left field, but has a hierarchical namspace been
considered? for example:
concentration/nitrogen/sea_water/diatoms
concentration/nitrogen/sea_water/plankton/phyto
concentration/nitrogen/sea_water/plankton/mesozoo
concentration/nitrogen/sea_water/plankton/mesozoo
concentration/nitrogen/sea_water/plankton/micro
concentration/nitrogen/sea_water/plankton/detritus
concentration/silicate/sea_water/plankton/detritus
concentration/ammonium/sea_water
concentration/nitrate/sea_water
concentration/silicate/sea_water
In any case, the "molar" component is probably redundant because that
fact is encoded in the "units" attribute.
Disclaimer: I'm only on this mailing-list because of my UDUNITS work.
