That is the intention when it is up and running. But at the moment the
standard name table is a draft to illustrate the principle and to invite
comments on whether it's a good idea and on the details of how it has been
done. We have had some comments that have not been implemented yet, mostly
aimed at using some more common terms in some places (for instance, as is
usual in our subjects, "flux" instead of the standard physics "flux density"
for something m-2), some shortenings, and some quantities to be added. The
draft did not aim to be comprehensive anyway, although I believe it does
cover all the standard GRIB and AMIP quantities.
I hope we can do a new version soon. In the meantime, your comments and
additions are welcome.
